Utrish Lighthouse is a lighthouse host on Cape Utrish on the Black Sea coast, about 20 km northwest of Novorossiysk. A modest light in a wooden shed was first installed in 1898, replaced by an iron structure with an automatic acetylene light in 1911, and used by hydrographers in 1943 to guide Soviet landing craft during the Novorossiysk-Taman offensive. In 1975 a new brick tower was built that doubles as a memorial to fishermen killed in WWII. The current tower stands 17 m tall (26 m above sea level) and shows a white isophase light visible to 15 miles.
