Originally built in 1856 as the Berezan range lights on the western shore of the Berezan estuary, the markers were rebuilt in the early 1870s and, after hydrographic surveys found the old alignment ran dangerously close to Kinburn Spit shoals, replaced in 1882 by new lightweight, demountable iron towers renamed for the village of Viktorivka. Manufactured at a Mykolaiv machine works, the rear tower stood 9.8 m tall near Viktorivka and the front 5.5 m on Lagerna Spit; a stronger fourth-order optic was added to the rear light in 1896. Both towers were rebuilt after World War II (front in 1969, rear in 1951); today the front light is an orange cylinder on a 17-meter white tower showing a fixed red light to 12 miles, and the rear is an orange trapezoid on an open-frame tower showing a fixed white light to 18 miles.
